Embracing the wisdom that "it takes a village to raise a child," we are excited to welcome you to our Tongan community Fale (house). This is also the Tongan Society South Canterbury office and Youth Fale - your village. 

You are welcome to join us at our Sophia Street Fale, your village, for a range of workshops and programs designed to benefit our community and experience the warmth and vibrancy of our Tongan culture.

• Youth Hangout: The Fale provides a dedicated space for Pasifika youth to socialize, connect, learn and make new friends.
• Workshops: Engage in a variety of workshops focused on well-being, mental health, and personal development.
• Programs: Participate in diverse programs designed to enhance your physical, mental, and social well-being.
• Community Engagement: Join the community and become an active part of our village, fostering a sense of belonging and identity.
• Support for Youth: Our Fale offers support and resources tailored to the needs of our younger generation.
• Celebration of Youth: We celebrate the uniqueness and potential of our young people, providing them with a platform to shine.

 

 

Our Youth Fale is our village here in South Canterbury where we operate and run majority of our programs, workshops and learning. We are collaborating with the wider community to nurture and empower our younger generation. Our journey so far has seen us work on a voluntary basis, utilizing church halls and members' homes for community initiatives. Thank you to the generosity of our community and local agencies, Sport NZ and government's organizations who have been supportive and are helping us enhance the well-being of Pasifika youth and fostering a positive impact on our communities through a holistic approach.
